TiSUN goes Middle East
TiSUN marked its official launch on the Middle Eastern market by presenting its solar systems to the Arabian renewable energies sector at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi.
The market launch in the United Arab Emirates comes as no surprise. Having gained entry to 21 further markets, it is clear that TiSUN products are successful and in demand worldwide. According to a study published by the Austria Solar association (www.solarwaerme.at/Sonne-und-Energie/Marktstatistik/Weltmarkt/), solar heating systems are the world’s leading renewable systems. This study puts wind power systems in second place in a comparison of megawatts generated, with photovoltaic systems a long way behind in third place.
Robin M. Welling, Managing Director of TiSUN GmbH and TiSUN LLC, sees the new market as a logical consequence. “TiSUN is concentrating on the Austrian domestic market and also presenting its portfolio to interesting international markets, for example at the World Future Energy Summit 2009 in Abu Dhabi.” The reasons for TiSUN addressing this market are clear. The Arabian region has a high concentration of construction in a very small area, energy resources are limited and the energy saving potential in the Gulf area is enormous. TiSUN solar systems can contribute to the supply of renewable energy.
In Abu Dhabi itself, people are aware of the limited supply of fossil fuels and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has shown his concern for environmental protection by initiating the construction of MASDAR City. Currently still at the planning stage, this green city in the desert has a promising future. Masdar, which means source in Arabic, will be CO2-free, generate almost no waste and have no cars. The eco city will run self-sufficiently on renewable energy and have space for 50,000 people.. This project demonstrates the need to think about things in a different way. The Emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi are also currently investing billions in other environmental projects and are set to lead the way for the rest of the world. As one of the world’s primary producers of crude oil, the United Arab Emirates has the necessary capital.
With projects such as Masdar City, millions are being invested in renewable energies and TiSUN is taking advantage of the opportunity to acquire market shares in these countries with its high-quality products, also with a view to securing the long-term future of the Tyrol as a key location and operating independently of the current economic situation.
